An established Further Education college in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated Engineering Assessor to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role is ideal for an experienced engineering professional who is passionate about developing learners and supporting them through their vocational qualifications.

Working in partnership with TeacherActive, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality assessment and learner support across engineering apprenticeship and vocational programmes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and support learners working towards engineering qualifications and apprenticeships
  • Conduct workplace and on-site assessments in line with awarding body requirements
  • Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date learner records and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality assurance, awarding body, and Ofsted standards
  • Work collaboratively with curriculum teams, employers, and internal stakeholders
Requirements:
  • Occupational competence and industry experience within an engineering discipline
  • Assessor qualification (TAQA, CAVA, A1 or equivalent)
  • Experience assessing in an FE or apprenticeship setting
  • Strong organisational, communication, and time management skills
