We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Caretaker to join our team at a thriving Primary school in Carmarthenshire. This is a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the school and providing a safe, secure and welcoming environment for our students, staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out general maintenance, repairs and site improvements
- Ensure the security and safety of the school site, including unlocking/locking the premises
- Monitor and maintain heating, lighting and other utilities
- Keep the school grounds clean, tidy and well-presented
- Support with health and safety compliance across the site
- Liaise with contractors and suppliers when required
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a caretaker, site management or maintenance role is desirable
- Good practical skills in basic repairs and maintenance
- Strong awareness of health and safety
- Reliability, flexibility and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- willingness to be a keyholder and respond to out-of-hours emergencies if required
Successful applicants will be required to complete an enhanced Child DBS disclosure and provide at least 2 references.
