Permanent position, full-time, immediate interviews available. TeacherActive is proud to partner with a welcoming and supportive school in Basildon seeking a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant on a permanent basis. This role supports children and young people with additional needs, helping them build confidence, develop independence and engage positively with learning. The successful assistant will work closely with teaching staff and the SEND team to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional and mental health challenges.

The Role

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
  • Support students both inside and outside of the classroom
  • Help implement individual learning and behaviour support plans
  • Encourage positive engagement, confidence, and emotional wellbeing
  • Build strong and trusting relationships with pupils and staff
  • Support the creation of a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
