Overview

Attendance and Pastoral Officer — Northumberland

Start Date: May 2026 | Salary: £110 - £125 per day

Do you have experience supporting students with attendance and pastoral care? Are you confident in building positive relationships with students, parents, and staff? Do you have a proactive and organised approach to improving student engagement and wellbeing?

TeacherActive is working with a supportive secondary school in Northumberland with a strong community ethos and a good OFSTED rating. The school is committed to creating a positive and inclusive environment where every student is encouraged to succeed both academically and personally.

Responsibilities

  • Support student attendance and pastoral care across Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5
  • Monitor wellbeing and engagement of students
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents and staff
  • Work closely with families and staff to improve engagement and outcomes
  • Maintain an organised and proactive approach to pastoral support

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a school or educational setting
  • Knowledge of attendance procedures and safeguarding practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and families
  • Good organisational and administrative skills
  • A proactive and supportive approach to pastoral care
