TeacherActive is seeking a confident, energetic, and sporty SEN Teaching Assistant to support a young boy in a school setting from September on a full-time basis. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who can build a positive relationship, act as a strong role model, and help engage a pupil who responds well to physical activity, structure, and positive encouragement.
The Role:
- Providing 1:1 support for a young boy with Special Educational Needs
- Building trust and establishing positive routines
- Supporting learning, emotional regulation, and social development
- Using sports, physical activity, and shared interests to encourage engagement
- Working closely with teaching staff and SEN professionals
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN setting
- Is sporty, active, and enjoys encouraging participation in physical activities
- Can be a positive role model and mentor
- Has strong behaviour management skills and remains calm under pressure
- Is patient, resilient, and committed to helping pupils achieve their potential
- Previous experience in coaching, youth work, sports instruction, or education is highly desirable
