About the role:

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a well-known and well-respected mainstream secondary school based in Arnold, Nottingham. The school boasts fantastic facilities and opportunities both inside and outside of lessons to promote students' engagement and help them flourish personally and academically. The school is looking to take on an English Teacher on a full-time, long-term contract starting in February 2026 or sooner if available. The successful applicant will be working across both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, including exam preparation for GCSEs. The role will be paramount in helping students achieve excellent results in the subject, whilst following and implementing the schemes of learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, including GCSE preparation.
  • Follow and implement the school's schemes of learning.
  • Contribute to maintaining high standards of classroom management and student engagement.

Qualifications:

  • QTS with English specialism (ECTs are also welcomed).
  • Experience teaching English up to Key Stage 4.
  • Excellent classroom management.
