TeacherActive is supporting a mainstream primary school in Alnwick with the recruitment of a Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school is looking for someone who enjoys working closely with children and can quickly build positive relationships with pupils and staff. This is a long-term Teaching Assistant role starting ASAP, with opportunities to support different classes across KS1 and KS2. You will work alongside class teachers to provide one-to-one and small group support, assist with learning activities, encourage pupil engagement and help maintain positive behaviour throughout the school day.
The successful Teaching Assistant will have:
- A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification would be advantageous
- Previous experience working with primary-aged children
- Experience supporting pupils across KS1 and/or KS2
- The confidence to support learning individually and within small groups
- Good communication and behaviour management skills
- A caring, reliable and proactive approach to supporting children
