Are you an SEN Teacher with a passion for supporting students with complex needs? TeacherActive are working with a highly respected SEN school in Cheshire that supports secondary-aged students with a wide range of additional needs, including Autism, SLD, PMLD and complex communication challenges. This welcoming and inclusive school is seeking an SEN Teacher who can bring creativity, patience and resilience to the classroom; someone who is committed to helping every student achieve their personal best.

The Role

  • As an SEN Teacher, you will teach small groups of secondary-aged learners with complex needs.
  • Deliver a creative, sensory and differentiated curriculum that promotes engagement, independence and communication.
  • Work closely with a strong team of support staff, therapists and senior leaders to meet each student’s EHCP targets.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment where every student feels valued and supported.

The Ideal SEN Teacher

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and previous experience within an SEN or complex needs setting.
  • Confident in using communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton or AAC.
  • A team player who is proactive, compassionate and resilient.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and a child-centred approach.
