We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism and additional learning needs in a specialist Communication and Interaction Base. The role will focus on promoting communication skills, encouraging positive social outcomes and providing targeted one‑to‑one support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one support to pupils with ASD and additional learning needs.
- Implement strategies to promote communication and social development.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and specialists to deliver individualized learning plans.
- Monitor progress and support pupils in developing confidence and independence.
- Contribute to the nurturing environment of the Communication and Interaction Base.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people with ALN, particularly ASD.
- Experience supporting pupils within a Communication and Interaction Base or similar setting.
- Previous one‑to‑one support experience, preferably within an educational environment.
- Good understanding of strategies to promote communication and social development.
- Patient, caring and proactive approach to supporting learning.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
