TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream primary school in Abergavenny. The school is looking for a supportive and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their Reception class and help create a positive learning environment for children with a range of additional learning needs.
The school is looking to take on a Teaching Assistant on a part-time, long-term basis, starting ASAP. The successful Teaching Assistant will support children within the Reception class, including pupils with ALN, helping with communication, engagement and learning activities, with experience supporting non-verbal children being ideal but not essential.
The successful Teaching Assistant will have:
- Experience working with children within an educational or similar setting
- Experience supporting children with ALN
- Experience supporting non-verbal children is desirable but not essential
- A patient and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to adapt to the individual needs of children
