Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming and supportive Primary School in Solihull that is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team for the full academic year from September 2026 through to July 2027. This rewarding role will involve providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs, helping them access learning, develop socially and emotionally, and thrive within the classroom environment. The school is looking for a patient, nurturing and proactive individual who is passionate about making a positive difference to a child's educational journey.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A Level 2 qualification (or above) in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs
  • Experience supporting pupils within Key Stage 2
  • A calm, patient and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and parents
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with SEND
  • Support the pupil's academic, emotional and social development
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
  • Encourage engagement, independence and positive behaviour
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback where required

To be considered for this role, applicants must:

  • Be able to provide two professional references, including references from recent employers
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain a new Enhanced DBS through TeacherActive
  • Have the right to work in the UK
