dedicated Welsh Language Coach to join its Bilingualism team!

Are you a fluent Welsh speaker who enjoys mentoring young people, building confidence and encouraging the use of Welsh in educational settings? This could be the perfect opportunity for you!

What will you be doing?

As a Welsh Language Coach, you will play a key role in promoting bilingualism and helping learners develop their Welsh language skills. Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing one-to-one mentoring and setting achievable learning targets.
• Planning and delivering engaging group sessions to encourage Welsh language use.
• Monitoring Welsh-medium work and supporting learners to build confidence.
• Motivating and inspiring learners to use Welsh throughout their studies.
• Working closely with lecturing staff and Learning Area Managers to promote bilingual learning across the college.

What we're looking for

The successful Welsh Language Coach will have:

• Fluency in Welsh, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience promoting the Welsh language and mentoring young people.
• Experience supporting learners through one-to-one sessions, target setting and group activities.
• Confidence communicating with learners, parents/carers, academic staff and external organisations.
• The ability to plan and deliver engaging sessions that encourage participation and bilingual learning.
• A proactive, adaptable and resourceful approach, with the ability to use your own initiative.
• Essential requirement: Applicants must hold an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
