qualified ALN Teacher (Additional Learning Needs Teacher) with QTS to work on a
full-time, long-term basis in a welcoming and supportive secondary school in
Caerphilly. This role offers the opportunity to become a
permanent position, making it ideal for teachers seeking long-term stability and career progression.
Due to our strong partnerships with
secondary schools and specialist provisions across Caerphilly and the surrounding areas, there is a growing demand for experienced
ALN / SEN Teachers who are passionate about inclusive education.
What Does an ALN Teacher Do?
In this role, you will:
- tailored and differentiated lessons to meet individual learning needs
- Support students with conditions such as autism (ASD), ADHD, dyslexia, and SEMH (social, emotional and mental health needs)
- Adapt teaching strategies to support engagement and progress
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, and external professionals
- Create and implement Individual Development Plans (IDPs) in line with the ALN framework in Wales
- You will play a key role in creating an inclusive, structured, and supportive learning environment, ensuring every student can thrive both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons for ALN students
- 1:1 support and small group interventions
- Develop, implement, and review Monitor and assess student progress, adapting strategies where needed
- positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with school staff, parents, and external agencies
- safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Uphold safeguarding policies and procedures
Requirements
The successful ALN Teacher will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience working with ALN / SEN students in a school or specialist setting
- Understanding of the ALN Code for Wales (desirable)
- ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and other additional needs
