SEND Teacher - ASC & SLD

Are you an experienced SEND Teacher with a passion for supporting pupils with Autism (ASC) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)?
Do you have the patience, creativity and adaptability to deliver engaging, highly differentiated lessons for pupils with a range of communication, sensory and learning needs?
TeacherActive is working with a specialist SEND setting in the Uxbridge area that is looking for a dedicated SEND Teacher to join their team on a long-term basis.
The role
As a SEND Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver creative, highly differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
- Support pupils with ASC, SLD and complex learning needs
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants and other professionals within the classroom
- Use a range of communication strategies to engage pupils, including non-verbal learners
- Follow individual EHCP targets and contribute towards pupils' academic, social and emotional development
- Create a calm, structured and supportive classroom environment
- Manage behaviour positively and consistently
The ideal SEND Teacher will have:
- QTS or a relevant teaching qualification
- Previous experience teaching pupils with ASC and/or SLD
- Strong knowledge of SEND and differentiated teaching
- Experience supporting pupils with communication and sensory needs
- Excellent behaviour and classroom management skills
- A patient, nurturing and resilient approach
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
