TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream primary school in the Swadlincote area that supports a high number of pupils with SEN needs. The school provides an inclusive and supportive environment where children are encouraged to develop their confidence, independence and engagement with learning.
The school is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis from ASAP until July 2027. The successful Teaching Assistant will work within a Year 3 classroom, providing dedicated 1:1 support to a child with Autism / ASD and supporting their learning, classroom routines and individual needs throughout the school day.
The successful Teaching Assistant will have:
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification desirable
- Experience supporting children with SEN / SEND
- Experience working with children with Autism / ASD
- Confidence delivering 1:1 support within a primary school
- A calm, patient and encouraging approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
