About the Role
We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Maths Lecturer to join a Further Education (FE) college in Birmingham on a long-term temporary basis. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching in GCSE Mathematics and Functional Skills Maths, helping learners achieve strong outcomes and build confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons in GCSE and Functional Skills Maths
- Plan, prepare, and assess learning in line with awarding body requirements
- Track learner progress and provide constructive feedback
- Prepare students for exams and assessments
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to quality processes
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Essential Requirements
- Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent)
- Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics
- Experience teaching GCSE and/or Functional Skills Maths in FE
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Desirable
- Recent FE teaching experience
- Experience working with post-16 learners
- Ability to deliver engaging sessions to mixed-ability groups
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
