Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
TeacherActive is proud to be working with a fantastic SEN school based in Gillingham, who are looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant. The school has been awarded an 'Outstanding' OFSTED rating and boasts a welcoming and supportive team of staff who are passionate about creating a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment for all pupils.
The school is looking to take on a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis, with an immediate start. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will be supporting children across a range of ages, predominantly with Autism Spectrum Disorder / ASD, with responsibilities including providing personal care, supporting safe and engaging learning activities, and helping to set up classrooms to meet the individual needs of pupils.
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is desirable

Experience working with children or young people with SEN / SEND, particularly Autism / ASD

Experience providing personal care or a willingness to undertake personal care responsibilities

The ability to support pupils with their learning, development and individual needs

A kind, patient and nurturing approach to supporting children with additional needs
-
A positive 'can-do' attitude and a genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential
