TeacherActive is proud to be working with an Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ primary school in Trafford. The school has a dedicated SEND provision and is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to provide focused, individual support.
This full-time, long-term SEND Teaching Assistant role starts after October half term, supporting a Year 4 child with Autism within the school’s SEND provision. You will provide one-to-one (1:1) support in Key Stage 2 / KS2, working closely with the class teacher to adapt learning activities and encourage engagement and independence.
Requirements
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
- Experience working in a UK school (essential)
- An understanding of Autism and strategies to support children with special educational needs and disabilities
- The ability to adapt learning activities and provide consistent one-to-one support
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with the class teacher
- A patient, caring and adaptable approach
