TeacherActive is proud to be working with a school in the Morpeth area. The school aims to provide an academic and pastoral provision for children from Nursery to Year 6. The ethos of the school aims to provide a bespoke approach and commitment to inclusivity. The school hosts an enclosed Sensory Garden and a Forest School Camp. The school is intentionally inclusive, offering a curriculum that ensures learning has a significant impact on pupil outcomes.

The school is looking for a highly experienced and resilient SEND teaching assistant working across both Key Stage 1 / KS1 and Key Stage 2 / KS2. The role will also involve working 1:1, working with students in small groups, and supporting the class teacher within the classroom setting.

A successful SEND teaching assistant will have:

  • Level 2 or above qualification in supporting teaching and learning in schools or at least 1 year's experience.
  • Experience working with SEND children with varying needs.
  • Willingness to work across Key Stage 1 / KS1, Key Stage 2 / KS2 or both.
  • A great ability to interact with pupils and keep them engaged.
  • Exceptional classroom management skills.
