TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist provision in Runcorn, supporting students with SEMH needs. The setting offers a structured and supportive environment, focused on helping pupils develop emotional regulation, confidence and positive engagement with education.
The school is looking to take on a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant on a 12-month maternity cover, starting as soon as possible, with the opportunity to move onto a temp to perm basis.
The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will be working with Key Stage 3 students, supporting them both in and out of the classroom, managing behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment.
The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will have:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
- Previous experience supporting Key Stage 3 students
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- A calm, patient and consistent approach
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs
