TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEND school in Grantham, supporting with their recruitment for an SEMH Teaching Specialist. The setting is centred on pupil s development, as well as an intrinsic desire to make progress both academically and with their own emotional, social and behavioural skills.
The school is seeking a passionate team player to take on this Long-Term position , although there is potential for this to become a Permanent placement for the right SEMH Teaching Specialist. The successful Teacher will bring a new dimension and skill set to this role, be keen to develop their own skills to adapt to the children s individual needs and have a positive impact on the wider school.
The position will involve working with students across all Key Stages with diagnosis of Autism / ASD, SLD / Severe Learning Difficulties, and challenging behaviours. A proactive thinker with the ability to take control of situations confidently is necessary.
The successful SEMH Teaching Specialist will have:

Experience working with children with additional needs / disabilities

Experience working with students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviours

Qualifying Teaching status or similar Qualification.

Team-Teach or MAPA qualifications desirable
