Are you a qualified teacher with QTS and experience delivering high-quality 1:1 learning? Do you have the confidence to design and deliver bespoke lessons for pupils with SEND and SEMH needs? Are you able to build positive, trusting relationships with learners outside of a mainstream classroom setting?
TeacherActive is currently working closely with schools, alternative provisions, and local authorities in Swindon who support children and young people unable to access mainstream education. These settings provide a nurturing, flexible, and child-focused approach, helping learners rebuild confidence and re-engage with their education journey.
This Tutor / Teacher role is offered on a flexible, long-term basis and involves delivering outreach support, home tuition, and alternative provision. You will be working 1:1 with pupils who may have SEND, SEMH needs, medical requirements, or experience of school refusal. The role requires excellent engagement skills, adaptability, and a consistent relationship-based approach. You will be responsible for planning and delivering personalised learning sessions tailored to individual needs.
The successful Tutor / Teacher will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Proven experience working with SEND, SEMH, or vulnerable learners
- Strong background in planning and delivering 1:1 personalised lessons
- Excellent ability to build rapport and engage learners on a 1:1 basis
- A flexible, pupil-centred and creative teaching style
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
