TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEND school in Central Nottingham, NG1, supporting recruitment for a Special Education Needs and Disabilities Learning Support Assistant / SEND LSA. The setting focuses on pupil development and progress in academic, emotional, social, and behavioural skills.
The school is seeking a passionate team player for this short-term role, with potential for long-term placement for the right SEND Learning Support Assistant / LSA. The successful candidate will bring a new perspective, be keen to develop skills to adapt to individual needs, and have a positive impact on the wider school.
Responsibilities- Work with students across all Key Stages with diagnoses including Autism / ASD, SLD / Severe Learning Difficulties, and challenging behaviours.
- Be proactive and able to take control of situations confidently.
- Level 2 or 3 qualified and/or a minimum of 6 months’ experience in an educational establishment.
- A calm, patient and caring demeanor.
- Experience with personal care & SLD.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines.
- Experience in supporting students in their education on a 1:1 and small group basis.
Successful applicants will be required to complete an enhanced Child and Adult DBS disclosure and provide at least 2 references.
