TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEND provision in Newark looking to appoint a caring and committed SEND Teaching Assistant. The provision supports children and young people with Autism / ASD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs, helping pupils feel supported, engaged and confident within their learning environment.
The SEND Teaching Assistant will work Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, on a temporary-to-permanent basis. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will support pupils with ASD and SEMH, helping them access their learning, manage their individual needs and develop positive relationships within the provision.
Key Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people with additional needs
- Experience supporting pupils with ASD and/or SEMH
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
- A patient and resilient approach
- Strong communication skills
- A flexible and adaptable attitude
