TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school based in Mansfield, providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for pupils with a range of additional needs. The school is committed to delivering high-quality education through an individualised approach, ensuring learners are given the opportunity to develop their confidence, independence and academic abilities.
The school is looking to appoint a dedicated Maths Tutor on a permanent basis at their Main Campus, delivering Functional Skills and GCSE Mathematics to pupils with SEND. The successful Maths Tutor will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, adapting teaching resources to meet individual learning needs, monitoring pupil progress and supporting learners to achieve positive educational outcomes.
The successful Maths Tutor will have:
- Be able to teach children aged 16+
- A relevant qualification in Mathematics, Education or a related subject, with a teaching qualification desirable
- Experience delivering Functional Skills Maths and GCSE Mathematics
- Experience supporting children and young people with SEND within a specialist or alternative education setting
- A proven ability to plan, differentiate and adapt lessons and resources to meet individual learning needs
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to assess, monitor and support pupil progress
- Excellent communication skills, patience, resilience and a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
