TeacherActive is proud to be working with an alternative provision in Leeds that supports students who are unable to access mainstream education. The provision offers a supportive and structured environment, helping young people overcome barriers to learning and develop socially, emotionally and academically.
The provision is looking for an SEMH Behaviour Support Assistant for short-term or long-term work depending on availability, with an ASAP start. The successful SEMH Behaviour Support Assistant will support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs, helping to manage challenging behaviour, encourage positive engagement and provide consistent support throughout the school day.
The successful SEMH Behaviour Support Assistant will have:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour
- Experience working within an alternative provision, SEND setting or similar environment is desirable
- Strong behaviour management skills
- The ability to build positive and professional relationships with students
- A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
