Are you passionate about delivering engaging sports education to young people? Do you have the skills to lead and develop a dynamic sports curriculum? Are you experienced in supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs?

TeacherActive is partnering exclusively with a specialist provision in Hull that supports students aged 11–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The setting promotes a therapeutic, inclusive environment with a strong focus on wellbeing, personal development, and re‑engagement in education through a love of sport.

The school is looking to appoint a Sports Course Lead on a permanent, full‑time basis from September 2026. The successful Sports Course Lead will lead both classroom and practical sports delivery, implementing the Pearson Level 1/2 First Certificate in Sport while supporting students with SEMH needs through engaging, hands‑on learning and external partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Sports-based qualification(s)
  • Experience in sports coaching, teaching, or playing
  • Strong understanding of health, nutrition, and wellbeing
  • Experience working with young people with SEMH or additional needs
  • A calm, flexible and adaptable approach to learning delivery
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships
