Are you a Functional Skills Teacher who can engage disengaged learners through a practical and active approach? Do you have experience delivering Functional Skills in Maths and English at KS3 and KS4? Are you passionate about using sport and alternative strategies to re‑engage students in education?
The school is looking to appoint a permanent Functional Skills Teacher from September 2026 on a full‑time basis. The successful Functional Skills Teacher will be responsible for delivering Functional Skills Maths and English to KS3 and KS4 students, many of whom may present with SEMH needs or disengagement from mainstream education, requiring strong behaviour management and a creative teaching approach.
Qualifications
- QTS or relevant teaching qualification
- Experience delivering Functional Skills Maths and English
- Experience working with KS3/KS4 students in alternative provisions or similar settings
- Strong behaviour management and classroom engagement skills
- A creative and adaptable approach to teaching and learning
- A proactive, resilient and can‑do attitude
