TeacherActive is proud to be working in partnership with a specialist SEND provision supporting pupils aged 6–16 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The setting offers a structured, nurturing environment with a strong focus on personalised learning, wellbeing, and pupil progress.
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to deliver engaging lessons, provide targeted interventions, and support pupils to regulate their behaviour and emotions. You will play a key role in promoting positive engagement, independence, and confidence across a range of abilities. This is a rewarding but challenging role, requiring patience, consistency, and a calm approach. You will be supported by a collaborative and experienced team, with access to strong resources and ongoing professional development.
The Role:
- Supporting the delivery of lessons and interventions across KS1–KS4
- Providing one-to-one and small group support
- Supporting behaviour regulation and emotional development
- Encouraging independence and positive learning behaviours
Qualifications:
- HLTA qualification or relevant experience in a higher-level support role
- Experience working with pupils with SEND, including ASD, SEMH, ADHD and learning difficulties
- A calm, consistent, and inclusive approach
- A genuine passion for supporting pupils’ development and wellbeing
