TeacherActive is currently seeking passionate and dedicated Outreach Tutors to support students across Chelmsford starting in September 2026. This rewarding role involves working with children and young people who may be out of mainstream education, requiring additional support to help them engage with learning and achieve positive outcomes. Tuition may take place in students’ homes, community settings, or local schools.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and personalised lessons tailored to individual student needs
- Support students with SEMH needs, SEND, anxiety, or those at risk of exclusion
- Build positive relationships that encourage confidence and progress
- Plan and adapt learning activities to suit different abilities and learning styles
- Monitor and report on student progress
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people in education or support settings
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt to different environments
- Experience with SEND or SEMH needs is desirable
- Relevant teaching, tutoring, or support qualifications are advantageous
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
