TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream college in the heart of Coventry offering a high standard of education to all their pupils; the college has recently been awarded a ‘GOOD’ Ofsted rating and boasts fantastic SEND values, placing their students at the heart of everything they do.
The college is looking for supportive and motivated Learning Support Assistants on a temporary contract leading to a permanent position for the right candidate. The role will support tutors and pupils to achieve the best learning experience, requiring a strong understanding of GCSEs, A levels and a range of vocational courses at KS5/Key Stage 5 in the candidate’s chosen area, along with excellent communication skills. This role will directly impact students’ pass ratings, enabling them to move into full‑time employment or higher education.
Support students with learning difficulties and disabilities to become empowered so that they can fully access the curriculum and successfully achieve their programme of study through the development of greater independence.
Qualifications:
- Level 3 or equivalent relevant subject
- Relatable teaching qualifications
- DBS and on the update service (Ideally)
- Experience supporting college tutors in a wide range of practical courses
- A broad experience with personal care and learning support work
- A strong knowledge and understanding of a T‑Level course
