We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Additional Learning Support Manager to lead and develop SEND provision across the College. This is a key strategic and operational role, ensuring that learners with additional needs receive high-quality, inclusive support that enables them to succeed in their education and progress toward positive destinations.

You will have overall responsibility for SEND practice, compliance with the SEND Code of Practice, and effective use of funding, working closely with curriculum teams, external agencies, learners and families. The role also contributes to safeguarding arrangements within the College, supporting the Safeguarding Manager to ensure statutory requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, monitor and evaluate SEND provision across the College
  • Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation
  • Manage EHCP consultations, annual reviews and High Needs/ALS funding processes
  • Maintain accurate records of learner needs, interventions and support
  • Line manage and develop the ALS team, including Learning Support Coordinators and Practitioners
  • Work collaboratively with curriculum teams to ensure joined‑up learner support
  • Oversee exams access arrangements in line with JCQ guidance
  • Secure, manage and monitor the ALS resource budget
  • Plan and deliver staff training to promote inclusive teaching and learning
  • Liaise with parents/carers and external agencies, including Local Authorities
  • Oversee Preparation for Adulthood activities for learners with EHCPs
  • Produce reports and performance data as required
  • Update and review SEND‑related policies and procedures
About You

You will be an experienced SEND professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for inclusive education. You will have:

Essential
  • Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths
  • A degree or appropriate professional qualification
  • Significant experience as a SENCO or ALS Manager
  • Experience supporting learners with EHCPs and a wide range of additional needs
  • Knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities within an educational setting
  • Experience of High Needs and ALS funding processes
Desirable
  • Teaching qualification
  • SENCO National Professional Qualification (NPQ)
  • Experience as part of a safeguarding team

You will be highly organised, able to work under pressure, and committed to raising aspirations and outcomes for learners with SEND.
