What you’ll be doing as a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant:
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support tailored to pupils with varied learning, communication and sensory needs
- Assisting with personal care, therapy programmes, mobility routines and regulation strategies
- Supporting the class teacher with lesson delivery, resource preparation and behaviour support
- Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement, independence and safety
- Collaborating with the wider SEND team to track progress and contribute to EHCP targets
What we’re looking for:
- Experience working as a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant or within SEND settings (PMLD, SLD, SEMH, ASD)
- A nurturing, empathetic and patient approach
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- Willingness to assist with personal care and mobility
- Team Teach or similar training is desirable but not essential
