What you’ll be doing as a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support tailored to pupils with varied learning, communication and sensory needs
  • Assisting with personal care, therapy programmes, mobility routines and regulation strategies
  • Supporting the class teacher with lesson delivery, resource preparation and behaviour support
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement, independence and safety
  • Collaborating with the wider SEND team to track progress and contribute to EHCP targets

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience working as a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant or within SEND settings (PMLD, SLD, SEMH, ASD)
  • A nurturing, empathetic and patient approach
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
  • Willingness to assist with personal care and mobility
  • Team Teach or similar training is desirable but not essential
