Job Title: Chef and Catering Teacher
Location: Maidstone
TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEN school based in Maidstone, supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Chef and Catering Teacher who can create a positive, safe and engaging learning environment where students can develop valuable practical and life skills.
The school is looking to appoint a Chef and Catering Teacher from January 2027 on a full-time, long-term basis, with the potential to become permanent for the successful candidate. The successful Chef and Catering Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging food preparation and catering sessions, maintaining high standards of food hygiene and kitchen safety, and adapting teaching approaches to meet the individual needs of students with SEMH.
The successful Chef and Catering Teacher will have:
- Relevant catering qualifications or professional training in food preparation and hygiene
- Essential experience working in the catering industry
- Experience teaching or delivering practical food preparation and catering sessions
- An understanding of SEMH needs and the ability to adapt lessons to support individual learners
- Excellent knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety procedures within a kitchen environment
- A patient, enthusiastic and adaptable approach with strong classroom management skills
