Are you an engaging and proactive SEND Learning Support Assistant looking for a rewarding new opportunity? TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND provision in Bristol that supports children and young people with a wide range of additional learning and communication needs. The setting promotes a friendly and nurturing environment where every learner is encouraged to develop confidence, independence and social skills through personalised support and therapeutic approaches.

The school is looking to take on a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis starting ASAP. The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant will be supporting students across different age groups with needs including Autism/ASD, Moderate Learning Difficulties/MLD, and communication challenges, both within the classroom and through tailored one-to-one and small group support.

The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant will have:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND
  • A strong understanding of Autism/ASD and additional learning needs
  • An engaging, creative and proactive approach to learning support
  • Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
  • A calm, patient and friendly nature
  • Team Teach or MAPA training is desirable but not essential
