Job Title: Teacher of Art
Location: Birmingham
Start Date: November 2026 or January 2027
Salary: £170 - £241 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a thriving 11-16 academy in Birmingham. The school has a collaborative ethos, excellent student behaviour and a strong focus on raising achievement through a broad and balanced curriculum.


The school is looking to appoint an ambitious Teacher of Art on a fixed-term maternity cover contract until July 2027, starting in November 2026 or January 2027. The successful Teacher of Art will teach across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, supporting the delivery of AQA GCSE Art and GCSE Photography while helping to further develop students' skills, particularly in drawing.


The successful Teacher of Art will have:



  • QTS with an Art specialism

  • Experience teaching Art at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4

  • Strong subject knowledge, with knowledge of the AQA GCSE Art specification beneficial

  • Excellent classroom management and the ability to deliver engaging lessons

  • A creative and ambitious approach to developing students' artistic skills

  • A commitment to collaborative working and continued professional development
