TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming and supportive school in Basildon that is looking to appoint a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant on a permanent basis. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs, helping them to build confidence, develop independence, and engage positively with learning.
The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant will work closely with teaching staff and the wider SEND team to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional and mental health challenges.
The Role
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
- Support students both inside and outside of the classroom
- Help implement individual learning and behaviour support plans
- Encourage positive engagement, confidence, and emotional wellbeing
- Build strong and trusting relationships with pupils and staff
- Support the creation of a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
