TeacherActive is proud to be working with an Alternative Provision in Nottingham City that supports young people with behavioural needs and those who have become disengaged from education. The setting provides a supportive environment focused on re‑engaging learners through practical, vocational learning and positive relationships.
The provision is looking to appoint a Construction Tutor on a full-time, permanent basis with an Immediate Start. The successful Construction Tutor will deliver practical sessions covering basic construction skills and site materials, while managing behavioural classes and helping learners develop confidence, engagement and employability skills.
The successful Construction Tutor will have:
- A teaching qualification is desirable but not essential
- Previous experience within construction or a relevant trade is desirable
- Previous experience working within an Alternative Provision / AP is desirable
- A good understanding of basic construction site materials and practical skills
- Confidence delivering engaging practical sessions to young people
- A patient, resilient and adaptable approach to supporting challenging behaviour
