Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a specialist educational setting? Do you have the confidence to lead learning, manage classes and support pupils with a range of additional needs? Are you passionate about helping children and young people aged 5 to 16 achieve their full potential?

The school is looking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant on a long‑term basis with the opportunity to secure a permanent position. The successful Higher Level Teaching Assistant will support teaching and learning across the school, lead lessons when required, work closely with teaching staff to deliver engaging learning activities, assess pupil progress and provide targeted support to pupils with additional needs.

Key Qualifications

  • HLTA qualification or relevant experience in a Higher Level Teaching Assistant role
  • Experience supporting children and young people with mixed additional needs within a specialist or SEND setting
  • Confidence leading whole‑class learning and managing classrooms in the teacher's absence
  • Experience planning, delivering and adapting learning activities to meet individual needs
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
  • A positive, adaptable and proactive approach
