TeacherActive is recruiting on behalf of a supportive and inclusive primary school in Angel, Islington for a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher. This school is committed to providing outstanding provision for pupils with additional needs and has high expectations for both progress and wellbeing. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated SEN Teacher who is confident in delivering tailored, high-quality teaching and making a meaningful difference to pupils with diverse learning needs.
The role will include:
- Planning and delivering individualised and small-group teaching for pupils with SEND
- Adapting the curriculum to meet a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language needs
- Writing, reviewing, and contributing to EHCP targets and support plans
- Working closely with the SENCo, class teachers, and support staff to ensure consistent, effective provision
- Monitoring progress and using assessment to inform next steps
- Creating a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment
- Building strong relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and external professionals
The successful candidate will have:
- QTS (essential)
- Proven experience working as an SEN Teacher or within an SEN provision
- Strong knowledge of SEND strategies and inclusive practice
- Excellent behaviour management and a nurturing, patient approach
- High expectations for pupil progress and achievement
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and equality
