Are you passionate about inclusive education and ready to transform the learning experience for young people in care? We are looking for a member of residential staff to join our team in Ashford. The position is temp to perm and only candidates looking for a permanent position should apply. Hours are Monday to Thursday, 13:00 - 00:00. There will be some sleep-in shifts required on a rota basis.
As a Residential Care Worker, you will support the learning, emotional, social and behavioural needs of children and young people within both our residential homes and, at times, within our school environment. You'll play an important role in everyday life, helping young people feel safe, valued and supported while contributing to care plans, daily routines, and meaningful experiences.
Essentials:- The successful candidate must be able to meet the cultural, communication, and personal needs of the individuals supported, in line with their care plans and preferences.
- Must drive, due to shift patterns and location.
- Must have experience working in a residential/care home.
- Minimum 6 months experience supporting young people with SEND, SEMH, or challenging behaviour, ideally in a care setting or SEND setting.
- Empathetic, calm, and resilient mindset with a trauma-informed approach.
- Ability to plan and deliver creative, engaging learning activities.
- Flexibility to work around individual learner needs and schedules.
- Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
