Humanities at Frogmore consists of History, Geography, Religious Studies and sociology. Requirements Subject Lead of Geography Faculty: Humanities Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR 2b Contract: Full-time, permanent Start Date: September 2025 Reporting To: Faculty Leader – Humanities Disclosure Level: Enhanced DBS We are seeking an exceptional Geography specialist to join our Humanities faculty as Subject Lead of Geography . This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate teacher and emerging leader ready to shape the vision for Geography and support the wider success of the faculty. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Staff Development Support the Faculty Leader in communicating a clear vision for Geography Lead by example, promoting the highest professional standards Support the development of team members through coaching, observation, and sharing best practice Monitor the quality of teaching and learning through lesson observations Promote best practice in Humanities teaching across the faculty Teaching & Learning Drive excellent student outcomes across all key stages in Geography Set high expectations for teaching and contribute to quality assurance Identify underachievement and implement targeted interventions Champion Geography through high-quality curricular and extra-curricular opportunities Maintain a high standard of behaviour and engagement in lessons Celebrate student achievement and promote a culture of success General Expectations: Collaborate across the Humanities faculty and wider school Uphold the expectations of the Upper Pay Range (if applicable) Contribute to whole-school improvement and the development of inclusive learning environments Join us and lead a subject with a strong foundation and excellent potential for further growth. Safeguarding, Student Safety & Wellbeing Fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children Attend statutory training and adhere to all relevant policies Promote student wellbeing through empathy, kindness, and support Assessment & Monitoring Use varied assessment strategies, with a focus on formative approaches Track progress and use data to inform interventions Provide constructive feedback and guide students in reflecting on their learning Subject & Curriculum Development Maintain secure knowledge of the curriculum and pedagogy Plan engaging extra-curricular opportunities in Geography Contribute to whole-school initiatives and school improvement plans Operational & Strategic Contribution Support in the development of schemes of learning, resources, and policies Assist with faculty development planning Contribute to school-wide strategic planning Professional Development Participate actively in school CPD and personal professional growth Engage in the Performance Management Review process Quality Assurance & Communications Take part in curriculum review and evaluation activities Communicate effectively with parents and external agencies Support marketing and liaison events, including open evenings Resource & Classroom Management Support effective use of learning resources Contribute to the management and deployment of support staff Maintain a purposeful and inclusive classroom environment Pastoral & Tutorial Responsibilities Act as tutor to a group of students, supporting their academic and personal development Support attendance, PSHCE delivery, and the broader pastoral programme Join us at Frogmore Community College and be part of a supportive and forward-thinking team committed to inclusive, high-quality education.
