An exciting opportunity has arisen for an outstanding and energetic Subject Lead of Geography at Frogmore Community College. We are looking for a highly motivated and inspirational emerging leader who is passionate about teaching and learning and committed to bringing out the best in every student. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the leadership of a committed and hard-working team of staff in a vital curriculum area. Humanities at Frogmore consists of History, Geography, Religious Studies and sociology.

We are seeking an exceptional Geography specialist to join our Humanities faculty as Subject Lead of Geography. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate teacher and emerging leader ready to shape the vision for Geography and support the wider success of the faculty.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Staff Development

  • Support the Faculty Leader in communicating a clear vision for Geography
  • Lead by example, promoting the highest professional standards
  • Support the development of team members through coaching, observation, and sharing best practice
  • Monitor the quality of teaching and learning through lesson observations
  • Promote best practice in Humanities teaching across the faculty

Teaching & Learning

  • Drive excellent student outcomes across all key stages in Geography
  • Set high expectations for teaching and contribute to quality assurance
  • Identify underachievement and implement targeted interventions
  • Champion Geography through high-quality curricular and extra-curricular opportunities
  • Maintain a high standard of behaviour and engagement in lessons
  • Celebrate student achievement and promote a culture of success

Operational & Strategic Contribution

  • Support in the development of schemes of learning, resources, and policies
  • Assist with faculty development planning
  • Contribute to school-wide strategic planning

Professional Development

  • Participate actively in school CPD and personal professional growth
  • Engage in the Performance Management Review process

Quality Assurance & Communications

  • Take part in curriculum review and evaluation activities
  • Communicate effectively with parents and external agencies
  • Support marketing and liaison events, including open evenings

Resource & Classroom Management

  • Support effective use of learning resources
  • Contribute to the management and deployment of support staff
  • Maintain a purposeful and inclusive classroom environment

Pastoral & Tutorial Responsibilities

  • Act as tutor to a group of students, supporting their academic and personal development
  • Support attendance, PSHCE delivery, and the broader pastoral programme
