Do you have experience teaching small classes as an enthusiastic HLTA? Have you worked in a SEMH or school setting as a HLTA? Can you provide any previous experience working with students or children who have social emotional and mental health needs? If you have answered YES to the above, then this could be the perfect HLTA role for you. Role: HLTA – Higher Level Teaching Assistant Your role as a HLTA is to prepare and teach classes this could be a small group of children too It’s important that you have Good English and maths skills as they are the two popular subject you will teach. You will be planning and delivering learning and enrichment activities with either the class teacher or independently. Preparation from you as a HLTA is important. This s a SEMH provision therefore you’ll be teaching in small groups concentrating on specific curriculum areas. You will cover and offer PPA when required and you will become a vital part of the school progression plans. The successful HLTA will: Hold HLTA status. Have ambition to raise the standards of SEN pupils learning. Previous experience Preparing and delivering learning activities for small groups and a s a whole class Have an enhanced DBS, on the update system Have previous experience working as a HLTA You must have the experience and the ability to understand and deliver lesson plans.
