Secondary Food Technology Teacher Full-Time (5 days per week) 08:15 – 15:30 (including planning and marking time) Our Client is seeking a passionate and experienced Food Technology Teacher to join there dedicated teaching team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Food Technology lessons to students in Years 10 to 12. This role requires a proactive educator who can inspire students to develop their practical skills, creativity, and understanding of food science. The position also involves planning and marking work to support student development. Key Responsibilities: * Lesson Planning and Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons in Food Technology for Years 10 to 12, ensuring content is relevant, up-to-date, and aligned with the national curriculum. * Practical Skills Development: Teach students to develop practical cooking skills, food preparation, and presentation techniques while embedding key knowledge about food science, nutrition, and sustainability. * Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess student progress using a variety of methods, including practical assessments, written exams, and coursework. Provide timely and constructive feedback to help students improve. * Classroom and Resource Management: Create a safe, well-organised, and resourceful classroom environment that fosters creativity, collaboration, and good practice. Ensure equipment is maintained and safe to use. * Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with colleagues in the Technology and Food departments to develop curriculum plans, share resources, and ensure continuity and progression in students' learning. * Parent Communication: Engage with parents to discuss student progress, attendance, and behavior at regular intervals, including parent- Key Skills and Qualifications: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. * A degree in Food Technology, Catering, or a related subject (or equivalent experience). * Experience teaching Food Technology at the Secondary level, particularly in Years 10 to 12 (preferred). * Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and the ability to deliver Food Technology theory and practical lessons effectively. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to balance teaching, planning, and marking. * A creative approach to teaching and learning with a focus on practical, hands-on experiences. * Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities. Hours & Pay: * This is a full-time position, working 5 days per week (Monday to Friday) from 08:15 to 15:30, including time for planning and marking. * Salary will be competitive and based on qualifications and experience.
