Are you a passionate, enthusiastic, and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in early years education? We are seeking a dedicated HLTA to join our friendly and nurturing preschool team within our welcoming school in Hailsham. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside experienced staff in providing high-quality care and education for children aged 2–4 years, helping to create a stimulating, safe, and engaging learning environment where every child can thrive.

The Role

  • Support the planning, delivery, and assessment of engaging learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Lead small group and whole-class activities when required.
  • Work closely with the Preschool Leader, teachers, and SEND team to support children's individual learning and development.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Observe, assess, and record children's progress.
  • Promote children's wellbeing, independence, and confidence through play-based learning.
  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds a recognised HLTA qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Has experience working within an Early Years or Preschool setting.
  • Has a sound understanding of the EYFS curriculum and child development.
  • Is enthusiastic, caring, and committed to providing the very best outcomes for young children.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Can demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
