Teach South Sussex is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Brighton for a dedicated
- Learning Support Assistant to join the team on a full‑time basis from
- September
- This is an ongoing
- 1:1 support role
- , working with a pupil in either
- Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2
. The school is currently finalising internal staffing arrangements, so the successful candidate will be placed within the most suitable class before the start of term.
Responsibilities
- Providing consistent 1:1 support to help a pupil access learning.
- Building a positive, trusting relationship with the child.
- Supporting both academic progress and social development.
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies.
- Encouraging independence while maintaining a calm, patient approach.
Qualifications
- Has previous experience working with children in a school, childcare or similar setting.
- Is patient, resilient and adaptable.
- Has a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
- Can commit to a full‑time, ongoing position.
- Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
