About The Role And School
We are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Newham from September. This role will be based within a specialist provision supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD and additional learning needs. The school is a diverse and supportive setting with a strong inclusion team and well-established SEN provision. Staff work collaboratively to ensure pupils receive tailored support both academically and emotionally. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will play a key role in supporting engagement, communication and progress. This role is ideal for candidates with SEN experience looking for a full-time position within a structured and supportive environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with ASD, ADHD and additional needs
- Provide 1:1 and small group support
- Assist with learning activities and classroom routines
- Support behaviour regulation and engagement
- Work closely with class teachers and SEN team
- Help implement EHCP targets
Qualifications / Experience:
- SEN or childcare experience desirable
- Strong communication and behaviour support skills
- Understanding of ASD/ADHD advantageous
- Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service
- Right to work in the UK
