About the role and school

We are looking for an enthusiastic and resilient PRU Teacher to join a specialist provision in Waltham Forest on an ASAP basis. This PRU Teacher role offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference to pupils who may have struggled within a traditional school environment and require a more personalised approach to education.

The school places a strong emphasis on relationships, engagement and helping pupils re-establish positive attitudes towards learning. As a PRU Teacher, you will deliver engaging and accessible lessons while providing the consistency, structure and encouragement pupils need to succeed.

This PRU Teacher opportunity would suit a confident teacher with strong behaviour management skills and a genuine passion for working with young people with additional needs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging lessons as a PRU Teacher
  • Plan and adapt learning to meet individual pupil needs
  • Establish clear routines and positive behaviour expectations
  • Build strong and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Monitor progress and contribute to individual support plans
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and wider professionals

Qualifications/Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS
  • Previous experience working with SEND, SEMH or challenging behaviour is desirable
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Resilient, patient and consistent approach
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service
  • Right to work in the UK
