About the role and school

Teach Plus are currently working with a welcoming primary school in Newham who are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner for an ASAP start. The school is looking for a caring, committed and experienced Nursery Practitioner to join their early years team and support children as they develop their communication, independence, social skills and early learning. You will be working alongside experienced early years staff to provide a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment. The successful Nursery Practitioner will be confident supporting children through play-based learning and will understand the importance of creating positive relationships with young children. This is an excellent opportunity for a Nursery Practitioner who enjoys working within a collaborative early years environment and is looking for a new role in Newham.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support children within the nursery classroom throughout the school day.
  • Assist with learning activities and play-based provision.
  • Support children's communication, language and social development.
  • Encourage independence and positive behaviour.
  • Create a safe, welcoming and stimulating learning environment.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and wider early years team.
  • Observe and contribute to children's development and progress.
  • Support children with personal care where required.
  • Develop positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
  • Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Relevant Level 3 Early Years/Nursery qualification is desirable.
  • Previous experience working within a nursery or early years setting.
  • Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • A caring, patient and nurturing approach.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A valid DBS on the Update Service is desirable.
