Learning Support Assistant

Start Date: September

Location: Newham

Part-time / Full-time considered

Salary: £108 - £115 per day (depending on experience)

About The Role And School

We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Newham from September. This role involves supporting pupils with a range of additional learning needs, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their full potential within a nurturing mainstream environment. The successful candidate will work alongside class teachers, the SENCO and wider support staff to provide personalised support through one-to-one and small group interventions. You will play an important role in promoting pupil engagement, confidence and independence both inside and outside the classroom. This opportunity is ideal for someone with previous experience working with children who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support
  • Support pupils with additional learning needs
  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement
  • Assist teachers with classroom activities
  • Support pupils' social, emotional and academic development
  • Work collaboratively with school staff and parents

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Previous experience working with children is desirable
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND is advantageous
  • Positive and proactive approach
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service
  • Right to work in the UK
